Dear Magnolia Garden Club Members,
We hope that you have had a wonderful summer filled with family,
flowers and fun! We are looking forward to our first meeting of the
year on Tuesday, September 9th at 10:30 at the Ronald McDonald
House (invitation will follow!). As you know, this is our business
meeting where we will discuss the upcoming year, budget,
philanthropy ideas, and programs.
The Former Presidents Luncheon was held on Thursday, August 14th at
Karen’s home. We had strong attendance with 14 of us gathered to
discuss the upcoming year. We are very excited with the programs
that Sarah and Melissa shared with us at the meeting. Christy gave
an update on her Dogwood District activities. The Garden Club of
Georgia is busy preparing for the 100th Anniversary celebration in
2028. Karen is representing the Dogwood District on this committee.
The most thrilling news that we shared is that the new Magnolia
Garden Club website ready to be debuted at the September meeting!
The former Presidents have been given a sneak peek at the site; but
there are still some elements that we are completing before our
meeting. We cannot wait to share with you all!
Please be prepared at the September meeting to present
considerations for our philanthropies. Most recently, we have
supported Atlanta Classical Academy, Campbell-Stone, Habitat for
Humanity and Chastain Park. If you have a new group that you
would like to be considered; please be prepared to present in
September. If you could let us know 1 week prior to the meeting thename of the organization that would be very helpful! The vote will be
taken in October to determine the organizations and dollars that we
will commit to for the year.
A quick reminder that the September meeting is a closed meeting as
it is our business meeting so we will not have any guests or speakers.
If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas, please reach out to
us! And we ask that you include both of us as we work in tandem!
